LYNN – An early morning street brawl on Monday resulted in a bruised and beaten Lynn man who allegedly turned his anger toward Lynn police officers in a drunken attack.Raymond Viera, 22, of 5 Henry Ave., #1, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a police officer, assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and interfering with police. He was arraigned Monday at Lynn District Court by Judge Albert Conlon and released on personal recognizance. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for March 24.According to court records, Lynn police responded to a report of a fight and shots fired on Johnson Street around 3 a.m. Upon arrival, officers saw several people running toward their cars and leaving the scene. One person shouted to police that he had been assaulted and pointed toward a person whom he said had a gun, who was sitting in the backseat of a car. After a quick search of the car and the surrounding area, a gun was not found. The victim, who received some facial injuries during the scuffle, was told to seek a complaint in court since the fight didn’t happen in police presence. While talking to the victim, an officer noticed Viera walking slowly toward him with a bruised face and blood dripping from his right hand while giving a deathly glare to the victim. Thinking he needed medical attention, the officer asked Viera what was going on but Viera allegedly spewed obscenities toward the officer and began struggling with him.A wild couple of minutes ensued, where the officer and Viera fell to the icy ground and Viera allegedly swung several punches and spit at the officer. As the scuffle continued, a crowd of people gathered around to watch the mayhem. Viera, who is an employee of Chuck E. Cheese in Danvers, eventually succumbed to officers after a swift kick was delivered just under his armpit.During booking, Viera allegedly continued his rant toward the officers, saying they should take off their badges and fight him. After refusing to take fingerprints or pose accurately for a mug shot, police placed him in a cell, where he began to tone down his aggression. Police say Viera reeked of alcohol and appeared to be under the influence.
