LYNN – Police say a Lynn woman was busted for allegedly pocketing more than $700 worth of makeup from Shaw’s Supermarket, which she then hoarded, unused, in her home.Laurie Ann Bowman, 42, of 95 Pleasant St., was charged with trespassing and receiving stolen property over $250. She was arraigned Wednesday at Lynn District Court by Judge Ellen Flatley and released on personal recognizance. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for March 16.According to court documents, police responded to a report of a woman who allegedly shoplifted $65 worth of makeup from Shaw’s Supermarket on State Street and was trespassed from the store around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, officers escorted the woman, Bowman, back to her home at the Eliot Community Human Services building. After speaking to a staff member at the home, police were told Bowman allegedly admitted to stealing makeup from the store on several occasions and later found a paper bag in her room filled with small sealed items with Shaw’s labels on them. When officers brought the items to the store employee, he determined that the items totaled $710.At the same time, another officer reported seeing Bowman back at the store and that she was refusing to leave. After she was escorted off the property two times, police say she was arrested when she returned for the third time after making a beeline for the makeup aisle.Officers say they had informed Bowman that she shouldn’t be in the store because she signed a no-trespass order, but she allegedly said she didn’t care and that she was going to keep coming back and stealing makeup. She also allegedly said for the officers to “take her to jail” but insisted that it wasn’t going to stop her from returning.
