PEABODY n An elderly man was found dead in his home on Felton Street Sunday as the result of a furnace explosion.Joseph Andrade, 86, was discovered inside the soot-filled home by a family member during the afternoon. Police and Fire officials say high levels of fumes and soot had emanated from the heating system and accumulated throughout the residence.Peabody Captain Dennis Bonaiuto said several officers were treated and released at Lahey North Hospital for exposure to the sooty conditions. Andrade was taken to the state medical examiner’s office.The investigation remains ongoing.
