SAUGUS – The Route 1 shopping center known as Staples Plaza has been sold to a Colorado real estate company for $13.2 million, according to records on file at the Southern Essex County Registry of Deeds.The shopping center is anchored by a Staples office supply store and a Barnes & Noble bookstore. It is also home to a Men’s Wearhouse clothing store, the Chipotle Mexican Grille and Saugus Formalwear.The retail complex on the northbound side of Route 1 at 444 Broadway is just south of the Lynn Fells Parkway overpass.Registry records indicate RREEF America Reit II Corp. VVVV, a Maryland-based corporation with Pamela Thomas listed as vice president, transferred ownership of two parcels of property at the Saugus address to TRT Saugus limited liability corporation for $13.2 million.TRT Saugus is registered in Delaware but its principal offices are at 518 Seventeenth St., 17th floor, Denver, Colo.The real estate transfer was filed at the registry in Salem on Monday, according to Registrar of Deeds John O’Brien.Phone calls to the RREEF America Reit II Corp.
