LYNN – A reputed Hells Angel was nabbed on a slew of drug and gun charges Tuesday after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend and ran into Lynn Woods in an attempt to elude police.Eric C. Franco, 36, of 386A Walnut St., was charged with domestic assault and battery, trafficking over 28 grams of cocaine, malicious destruction of property over $250, threat to commit a crime, three counts of a drug violation near a park or playground, three counts of a drug violation near a school, possession of class B and D substances, three counts of possession of a class E substance, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license and illegal possession of ammunition.Franco was arraigned Wednesday at Lynn District Court by Judge Ellen Flatley and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Friday.According to court documents, Franco’s live-in girlfriend called the police alleging that he had just assaulted her and was now throwing items around their apartment. While on their way to the Walnut Street apartment, police learned Franco had taken off and was running in Lynn Woods with his dog.Police followed him, shouting for Franco to stop, but he allegedly kept running and eventually hid under a rear deck on Pennybrook Road where he was caught.As he was being transported to the station for booking, police spoke with Franco’s girlfriend who said the two have been fighting lately. When she told him that afternoon that she and her 5-year-old daughter were going to move out, the two began to squabble.Franco allegedly grabbed the woman by her face and pinned her against a kitchen cabinet. When she said she was going to call the cops, Franco allegedly threatened to kill her if she did and began throwing things around the apartment.Grabbing her young daughter, Franco’s girlfriend ran outside and, soon after, saw her belongings being tossed from the back porch by Franco in an alleged rage. Police say she had red marks on her face and neck area but refused medical attention at the scene.As she began to pack a bag to leave the apartment, she pointed out a handgun allegedly belonging to Franco, along with a scale, ammunition and a bag of marijuana. A search warrant was then applied for and granted. Police returned and searched the apartment, where they found Oxycontin pills, 39 grams of cocaine, various prescription drugs and other pills, including Ecstasy and Viagra. A safe was also found, which contained syringes, needles, more Viagra, tweezers and other pills.The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
