LYNN – A Lynn man and his girlfriend appeared in court on Monday following a wild ride on Saturday that began with a police chase and ended in a rollover with drugs and a loaded gun found inside their vehicle, according to police reports.Anthony Christopher Boyd, 24, and Anthoulla S. Hios, 24, both of 130 Neptune Blvd, #1209, were charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, leaving a firearm in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm, unlicensed possession of ammunition, possession of crack cocaine and possession of marijuana. Boyd was also charged with failure to stop for police and defective motor vehicle equipment.Both suspects were arraigned at Lynn District Court by Judge Sabita Singh. Boyd was originally given a $5,000 bail, but had it revoked due to an open case, while Hios was released on personal recognizance and then ordered to post $500 cash bail. A June 16 probable cause hearing has been scheduled for both suspects, according to court documents.Police saw a Honda Civic speed by them while fishtailing on its way toward Broad Street around 2 a.m. Saturday. After pulling the car over, police say they saw the driver squirming around and reaching underneath his seat and immediately recognized him as Boyd.After ordering him to get out of the car with their weapons drawn, police say Boyd all of a sudden took off at a high rate of speed. Officers chased the car but, a short time later, found it overturned and resting on its roof in front of a home on Brookline Street, according to court documents.Several witnesses told police they saw a suspect jump over a nearby fence. Police were unable to find Boyd but, a few minutes later, they came across Hios on Timson Street. Hios had been a passenger in the car, according to court documents. Police say she was nervous, but didn’t have a scratch on her from the accident. She said she had been pulled out of the car by Boyd and was later taken to Union Hospital for an evaluation, according to court documents.While checking out the car, police found a plastic twist of crack cocaine, a small bag of marijuana and a 9 mm loaded handgun. Hios told police that the car belongs to her but is registered to her mother. She later said that she had been at a club in Revere that night, had a few drinks and let Boyd, her boyfriend, drive her home, according to court documents.Police found Boyd in his apartment.
