A Lynn man convicted Friday of first-degree murder in connection with the November 2009 fatal shooting of Vincent K. Gaskins outside Soriano’s Nightclub on Market Street was sentenced to life in prison Monday, said Steve O’Connell, Essex District Attorney spokesman.An Essex County jury in Lawrence deliberated for about four hours before finding Darkens Bonnett, of 16 Osborne St., Lynn, guilty of the charge, O’Connell said.Gaskins, 30, who lived at 159A Essex St. in Lynn, was shot once in the head with a .22 caliber handgun in the parking lot outside Soriano’s Nightclub at 41 Market St.Gaskins’ girlfriend at the time, Ashley Auger, told police that she and Gaskins were walking through the nightclub parking lot when a man came up and began speaking to Gaskins, but she kept walking toward her car until she heard gunshots, according to reports.
