The Peabody boys hockey team felt pretty good about itself after two periods. The Tanners were up by a goal heading into the final period.
Then, the roof fell in.
The Patriots stormed the Tanners with four goals in the final period and Peabody could only answer with one to win the game, 6-4.
“We had a breakdown,” said Peabody coach Mark Leonard.
Mike Vadala scored two goals for the 1-2-1 Tanners while Andrew Visconti and Matt McIsaac scored a goal apiece.
Peabody is at Salem State Wednesday to play Danvers.
Matignon 4, Fenwick 2
At Matignon, the Crusaders broke out to a 2-0 first-period lead on goals by Brian Corcoran and Brian Bassett, with Jake Brennan assisting on both (along with P.J. Usalis on the first and Drew Thibodeau the second).
However, that was all the Crusaders could muster as the Warriors ended up getting one back in the first period, and scored two in the second and one in the third.
