Coaches will often tell you they do not believe in moral victories. They do not count when it comes to a team’s record and a loss is still a loss. Coaches will tell you that losses will build character, and on Tuesday the Revere boys lacrosse team earned an overtime loss, 8-7, at Malden. After finding themselves down and almost out, facing a 7-1 deficit early in the second quarter, the Patriots (6-5) called timeout.”After we got down, we called timeout and let the captains and seniors talk with the team,” said Revere coach Mike Guanci. “After that timeout we played better; it was inspirational to watch how that timeout and the captains were able to galvanize the team to play better for the remainder of the game.”Coming out of the brief break, Brian McNitt scored three consecutive goals in quick succession to bring Revere to within three at halftime. McNitt finished the game with four goals. In the third quarter, Revere scored twice more, with Adam Comeau and Nick Carini building on the momentum the Patriots had garnered.
