SAUGUS – The Saugus Sun Devils won their fourth consecutive Major Division Championship this summer and the Board of Selectmen took time Tuesday out of a packed schedule to congratulate them.”I really can’t say enough about these kids,” said Team Manager Steve Almquist.Almquist said the team of Saugus Girls Softball Little League had a record of 15 wins and only one loss. Players Alexa Catino, Marina Dibiasio, Shaylin Groark, Lyndsay Jepson, Tessa Palermo, Laura Sabatual, Mia Dibiasio, Anna Falasca, Ashley Kilgore, Mia Poccio and Ashley Walsh were on hand to receive certificates and praise from their coach and board members. Jennie Iudice and Caitlin Wright were also honored but were unable to attend.”This is certainly a pleasure,” said Selectmen Chairman Michael Serino. “This is one of the highlights of being a selectman.”Almquist also thanked his coaches, Joe Cimetti, Bryanna Cimetti, Paul Catino and Bobby Dibiasio.”What I’m most proud of is that these kids came to every game and every practice,” Almquist said. “They worked hard from beginning to end and it’s a pleasure to be their coach.”
