LYNN – Police said Monday that there have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing after a shooting Thursday night on Chestnut Street.Police said they responded at 8:34 p.m. Thursday to the area of 170 Chestnut St. on the call of a possible shooting victim, according to a press release issued after the alleged incident. Police found two victims. A female victim had a gunshot wound to her “lower extremity,” according to the release. Police said a second victim – identified by police in the press release only as being 17 years-old, but police had previously said the victim was a male – suffered a head laceration from an assault.The alleged victims told police they were walking home from the area of Chestnut and Essex streets when the alleged shooting and assault occurred, according to police.Both were taken to the hospital from the scene with what police that evening described as non life-threatening injuries.Lynn Police Spokesperson Lt. Rick Donnelly said the ongoing investigation prevented him from releasing any information beyond a press release and did not provide any update on the victims’ conditions.Police reminded residents that anyone with a cell phone can text an anonymous tip to the Lynn Police Department by texting tip411.
