BEVERLY – The national Doo-Wop event of the year is coming to North Shore Music Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m., as the Doo-Wop Hall Of Fame Of America presents its annual concert and inductions.The Doo-Wop Hall Of Fame event has been held previously at Boston Symphony Hall annually since 2000.This year’s honorees and performers include The Orlons (Wah-Watusi), Randy and The Rainbows (Denise, Denise), and a lifetime achievement award to the first lady of doo-wop, the first female lead singer, Louise Murray of The Hearts (Lonely Nights) and Jaynettes (Sally Go Round The Roses).Also performing will be previous Hall Of Fame inducted artists Leon Hughes and Adolph Jacobs, the last of the original Coasters and their group from Los Angeles in a rare appearance (Searchin, Young Blood) and The Marcels (Blue Moon). Also appearing and singing will be The El Dorados’ James Maddox (Crazy Little Mama, At My Front Door). Honored by their induction into the Hall of Fame will also be The Dells (Oh What A Night). The Dells have retired from performing.
