LYNN – Attorneys agreed on $10,000 cash bail for a city man who was allegedly driving with two young children and suspected cocaine, methadone, oxycodone, marijuana and a Viagra when he crashed his car during a suspected overdose. Police said both children were uninjured.”While medical staff were cutting off (the defendant’s) clothes, a large quantity of drugs fell from his body onto the bed,” Lynn Police Officer Albert Divirgilio wrote in a report. “Further, during this incident, (the defendant’s) iPhone would not stop with calls and texts, with drug-related matter.”John D. Fleury Jr., 44, of 83 Parkland Ave., was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs; reckless endangerment of a child; possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs; possession with intent to distribute Class D drugs, subsequent offense; and possession with intent to distribute Class E drugs; after being released from the hospital on Monday.He appeared in Lynn District Court later that day where he was arraigned on the charges and entered a plea of not guilty.Police responded to 154 Myrtle St. at 2:12 p.m. Saturday on the report of a motor vehicle accident, according to police. Police reported finding Fleury slumped over the wheel of a Nissan Pathfinder (which had been placed in park but remained running) and unconscious but breathing. A 9-year-old and a 7-year-old child were in the backseat and seemed unharmed, according to police. A woman told police that the car had passed over the double yellow lines and sideswiped her vehicle.EMS at the scene gave Fleury Narcan, a drug that temporarily reverses opiate overdoses, and took him to Union Hospital.The medical staff reported that large amounts of drugs and cash fell from Fleury’s body (it had been “tucked up under his genitalia”) when medical personnel removed the defendant’s clothes, according to police.Police also reported finding the suspected marijuana and money in the clothing and that the defendant also had a two-way radio that could monitor and interrupt Lynn Police transmissions and somebody else’s Department of Transitional Assistance card.Suspected drugs recovered included a bag of marijuana, a bag of cocaine, $3,703.25 cash, 47 methadone pills; 116 Oxycodone pills; and a Viagra.Attorneys at Fleury’s arraignment agreed to a $10,000 cash bail and conditions of release including that Fleury remain drug-and-alcohol free and submit to random drug tests and that he not drive without a valid Massachusetts license.Judge Joseph Jennings accepted the agreement and ordered Fleury to return to court April 8. Fleury posted bail that afternoon.
