LYNN – A judge ordered a city man held without bail after police said the defendant called an ex-girlfriend multiple times in violation of a restraining order.”(The alleged victim) said that she has an alarm on her door which was put into place because of (the defendant’s) behavior,” Lynn Police Officer Jeffrey Trahant wrote in a police report. “(He) has been charged dozens of times with violating a restraining order where (the alleged victim) was the victim in just the past year alone.”Daniel McNeil, 46, of 26 Shepard St., was arrested and charged with violation of an abuse-prevention order, five counts; stalking in violation of a restraining order; and criminal harassment; at 7:12 p.m. Saturday.A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf at his arraignment in Lynn District Court Monday.Police reported responding at approximately 6:20 p.m. Saturday to a Lewis Street apartment on the report of violations of a restraining order. The alleged victim and a woman who said she was the alleged victim’s sister showed police a restraining order stipulating that McNeil have no contact, stay away from and not abuse the alleged victim.Police reported McNeil had left two messages on the alleged victim’s phone begging to be taken back. The alleged victim’s sister told police McNeil had also called her at least 15 times since that morning, pleading to speak with the alleged victim. The alleged victim said she answered her sister’s phone three times to tell McNeil not to call, according to police.Police said both women reported they were upset and in fear of the defendant. Although arrested without incident, during booking McNeil “threatened to tear the police station up and (said) that he would make us (the police) miserable,” police said.Essex Assistant District Attorney Aimee Conway requested McNeil be held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. Attorneys agreed to continue the hearing in Peabody District Court June 24, but court documents do not specify why the case will be heard in a different venue.
