LYNN – A woman was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital Sunday night after allegedly being hit by a car and carried on the vehicle’s hood for several blocks.”An adult female was struck by the car at Essex Street and Rockaway and it ended by Essex and Washington Street,” Lynn Police Lt. Lucas Dean said Monday evening, referencing an initial report of the incident. “That’s a little distance.”Police responded at 9:09 p.m. Sunday to Essex and Washington streets and found the 38-year-old alleged victim and an abandoned vehicle, Dean said. He said the woman was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. But the actual accident was alleged to have occurred at Essex and Rockaway streets, up the hill and about three blocks from the location to which police responded.Dean said the victim was reportedly on the hood of the vehicle as it traveled those blocks. The driver of the vehicle allegedly fled on foot after ditching the car at Essex and Washington streets.Dean said the incident remains under investigation, and no arrests in connection with the incident have been made.
