LYNN – The Lynn Classical swim team is three quarters of the way toward matching Lynn Tech?s four-year dynasty in the Lynn City Swim Meet.
The Rams won their third straight annual meet, with their 166 points easily outdistancing English (91) and the Tigers (63). One more next year and Classical will match the four straight that Tech won in the immediate preceding years.
?This team works,” said Classical coach Denise Silva.
In fact, Silva so wanted to make sure her swimmers had to work for what they got that she split her No. 1 400-yard freestyle relay team to ensure that the swimmers had to compete against each other. It made for the most interesting event of the day, with swimmers from all three schools crouched or kneeling around the pool as the roar of the capacity crowd in the bleachers was deafening.
?I wanted to make sure that everyone worked for what they got today,” said Silva.
