SAUGUS – Eastern Bank donated $2,000 to the new softball field that was recently completed at the Belmonte Middle School.Eastern Bank, with three Saugus branches that provide full-service banking to the Saugus community, has repeatedly stepped up to help many fundraising efforts in town.Their donations are numerous and include supporting the Saugus Special Olympics Day for nine years and being a sponsor of the Saugus TargetCancer Foundation events two years.They are also a sponsor of World Series Park every season.Eastern Bank has the distinction of donating 10 percent of their profits back to the communities they serve in the form of financial assistance to charitable organizations. Eastern Bank has a total of 92 branches located in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.The new field will be the home field of Saugus Softball Little League that involves hundreds of Saugus girls from 4 to 16 years of age.This new field will provide more opportunity for the playing of softball in Saugus and will help to grow Saugus Softball.The fundraising will continue in order to make additional impro?vements to the field.Individuals, busine?sses and organizations who would like to donate to this worthwhile project are asked to make checks payable to Saugus Softball Little League and send to Saugus Softball, P.O.
