LYNN – A 50-year-old male charged with trying to entice a child was released Monday on $2,000 cash bail and ordered not to have contact with the victim or any other unsupervised child, excluding family.Jorge Mendez, of 198 Williams St., Apt. 1, was arrested June 24 after a female student from Marshall Middle School reported an incident to her assistant principal, Stephanie Doucette, who forwarded the complaint to police.Mendez tried to lure the alleged victim into having relations with him for $6, according to the complaint. Judge Cathleen Campbell also ordered Mendez to stay away from Marshall Middle School.Mendez is due back in court Aug. 24 for a second pre-trial hearing.According to a report filed by Lynn Police Officer Ryan McDermott, Marshall?s student resource officer, the victim declined multiple sexual advances from Mendez while walking to school. When she got there, she told Doucette of the encounter.Police drove the victim back to Mendez?s house, and when he walked by, the victim immediately identified him.According to a police report, Mendez cooperated during the booking process, answering questions about the procedure and requiring a Spanish translator.
