Saugus Police are investigating an assault against a pizza delivery driver on Friday night.
The driver was attempting to make a delivery to 77 Newhall Ave. when he was assaulted, according to Interim Police Chief Ronald Giorgetti.
“He was essentially punched,” said Giorgetti.
The suspect, a white man between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches dressed all in black, fled the scene.
Officers conducted an area search and were unable to locate him, said Giorgetti.
“We are continuing to investigate in an attempt to identify the assailant,” he said.
Police would not say whether the driver was robbed.
