Our Lady of the Assumption School has been educating its students in preschool to grade 8 virtually since March 16. The last week that school was in session, faculty and staff prepared packets with two weeks of work for each student and once it was clear that schools would not be reopening in the near future, Zoom classes began. The students have followed a set schedule Monday through Thursday and Friday is a day of catch up and gives the students a chance to consult with their teachers if necessary.
The faculty and staff have been instrumental in keeping the education process running smoothly. Principal Cynthia Donovan said. “Our teachers gave our students normalcy in a world that seems so abnormal. Our scholars remained steadfast and determined even when some days felt like weeks. Our parents were at our scholars’ side day in and day out to make sure they knew what the expectations were. I couldn’t be prouder of our OLA family community.”
The school is located at 40 Grove St. There are openings in all grades for the fall. For a virtual tour, go to OLA.school or call 781-599-4422.
