SAUGUS – A vehicle overturned after hitting a utility pole in Saugus early Wednesday morning, injuring the driver.
Assistant Police Chief Ronald Giorgetti reported the incident occurred near the area of 24 Main Street just before 7:30 a.m., when the car — a 2017 Honda Accord carrying a parent and child — collided with the pole in an attempt to avoid another accident.
“The operator indicated (he or she) swerved to avoid a collision and struck the pole,” Giorgetti said.
The unidentified driver was taken to an area hospital. The person’s condition is currently unknown. The child is not reported to have sustained any injuries in the crash.
