In a battle of unbeatens, the Classical volleyball team blanked Greater Boston League foe Revere 3-0 on its home court Monday. The Rams won by set scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-21.

“They were all very close sets,” Classical coach Frank DeLuca said. “We just didn’t play consistently. We had some good stretches but then at times we started playing a little sloppy.”

Brooke Warren and Pamela Kery led the way at the service line with 13 service points each. Reese Brinkler added seven service points. Chloe Clement had a team-high 12 kills while

Brinkler had four. Izzy Faessler and Samantha Thoeun both did well setting up their teammates with seven assists each. Thoeun also added 12 digs while Faessler had seven.

Kery tacked on six service points to help kickstart Classical in the first set while four kills from Clement helped the Rams grab a 1-0 lead.

Both teams went back and forth to start the second set before Warren tallied six service points to distance Classical from Revere. Clement added another four kills in the second set.

In the third and final set Clement had four kills once again. Kery once again got the Rams started with five service points and Brinkler closed things out with four-straight service points later on.

The Rams (3-0) visit Medford Wednesday (5:30).

VOLLEYBALL

Medford 3, English 0

Between Medford being on it’s A game all match long and English coming out flat, it was a disappointing day for the Bulldogs who lost by set scores of 8-25, 14-25 and 8-25.

“I give Medford credit, they played phenomenal in all three sets,” English coach Mike Haddad said. “But I don’t think we played at our best. It would have been a tough match either way but we weren’t doing ourselves any favors (Monday).”

Despite the loss, DJ Chin had two aces on six serves. Kasey Nguyen also played well.

“Kasey had an outstanding all-around game,” Haddad said. “Her effort in all three sets went above and beyond. She was consistently on the receiving end of some of Medford’s hardest serves.”

English (0-3) hosts Revere Wednesday.
