School Sports Roundup: Early goal not enough for Lynnfield boys soccer in loss

The Lynnfield boys soccer team wasn’t able to get the win on Thursday night as it fell to Manchester-Essex, 2-1, at home.

After Dylan Reilly scored in the first half for the Pioneers, Manchester-Essex scored two unanswered goals to win the game. 

Lynnfield is now 9-5-2 and faces Pentucket in its next matchup Monday evening (6).

BOYS SOCCER

Revere 5, Malden 1

The Patriots are now 7-4-4 this season. 

Gloucester 7, Salem 0

The Witches are now 1-8 and play Salem Academy on Monday (6:30).

GIRLS SOCCER
Revere 4, Malden 0

Senior Carolina Bettero recorded a hat trick and also scored the 100th goal of her high-school career as the Patriots won their match on Thursday evening.

Revere is now 10-5-1 and plays East Boston on Monday.

FIELD HOCKEY
Bishop Fenwick 6, North Reading 1

Emma Perry had three goals and an assist for the Crusaders. Emily McPhail, Rayne Millett, and Zoe Elwell also scored.

Bishop Fenwick is now 10-2-3 and plays again on Saturday at Bishop Stang.
