LYNN — City Council President Jay Walsh is the guest on this week’s episode of “The American Dream,” a Lynn Community TV Show hosted by attorney James J. Carrigan.

Walsh joined Carrigan to discuss progress for the city. The show, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7 a.m. on Comcast Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 38, is “designed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how public and private policy is developed,” according to Carrigan.

The conversation between Carrigan and Walsh ran just shy of half an hour. It began with a discussion of the pair’s relationship to, and memories of, City Council Vice President Buzzy Barton, who died last week.

“Buzzy has done a great job for the city … and everybody loved Buzzy,” Carrigan said.

“He was really a rock in the city council, he was really a rock in the city for people,” said Walsh, who had a black ribbon pinned to his lapel in Barton’s memory. “He was somebody that was pretty quiet about certain things … but he did some tremendous things and some work that went on behind the scenes.”

“Very solid person, always someone you could go to and get an opinion from,” he added. “I looked up to him a lot … he was a great leader.”

Episodes can be found on the Lynn Community Television website after they air.
