LYNN — The City of Lynn’s series of summer movie nights continues with a showing of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Lynn ferry terminal, Blossom Street Extension.
The movie, which is based on Nintendo’s Mario video-game franchise, set multiple records when it was released in April. There will be face painting, popcorn, a food truck, and an ice-cream truck starting at 6 p.m. and the movie will be shown at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. The event is presented by Mayor Jared Nicholson and the Economic Development & Industrial Corporation of Lynn.
“We are pleased to provide opportunities for people to gather for entertainment, food, and family fun,” Nicholson said.
“Utilizing the location for events like this only adds to the success of the Lynn ferry,” said EDIC Executive Director James Cowdell.
The final movie night of the summer will take place on Friday, Aug. 25 with a showing of “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” at Red Rock Park. That event is being co-sponsored by the mayor’s office and Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach.
