Saugus Fuddruckers to close by 2024

November 1, 2023 by Charlie McKenna

SAUGUS β€” It’s the end of an era for the world’s greatest burgers.

The Fuddruckers at 900 Broadway is now slated to shut its doors by the end of 2023, after more than 35 years in business. The nearby Reading location inside Jordan’s Furniture will remain open.

β€œIt is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closing of our Saugus location,” Adrienne LeBlanc, the owner of the Saugus franchise who has been with the restaurant for 23 years, said. β€œThis is not the outcome we had hoped for because we want to keep the restaurant open. Despite multiple attempts to negotiate a fair lease, however, we simply couldn’t come to an agreement with our landlord, and we were forced to make this very difficult decision. While an exact date has not been determined, we expect to close in mid to late December and look forward to serving our incredibly loyal guests until then.”

The Saugus Fuddruckers played hosts to a number of community events on a weekly and annual basis, including the Mom’s Cancer Fighting Angels car show, where classic and movie cars, among many others, filled the restaurant’s parking lot to raise money for cancer research.

With the Saugus location shutting its doors, Haley Benitez, the owner of the Reading franchise, emphasized that her location is staying put.

“We look forward to welcoming guests who normally dine at the Saugus restaurant, and we are excited that many of the employees from Saugus will be joining us in Reading, so there will be many familiar faces when those guests come in,” Benitez, who has been with Fuddruckers for 19 years, said.
