LTE: A wonderful Christmas party at the Torigian Center

To the editor:

A wonderful Christmas party was held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Peter A. Torigian Senior Center in Peabody. Music was provided by a great musical ensemble called the Memory Laners. The wonderful meal by Chefs Pat, Jimmy, Cathy, Victor, and Bob consisted of baked stuffed chicken, Supreme sauce, red bliss potatoes, green beans almondine, and delicious tiramisu served with coffee for dessert. This celebration also preempted a retirement party for a long-time employee who was devoted to her senior citizens for approximately 30 years, Judy Walker, an activities coordinator who so unselfishly gave all of her time and talents to make the Peabody Senior Center such a wonderful place to come to. Judy made it a home. Many thanks to Carolyn Wynn, director; Susan Levenson RN, director of the Roger B. Trask Adult Care Center; Judy Walker, activities coordinator; Laurie Nadeau, volunteer director; Carol McMahon, administrative assistant; Mike Zellen, director of the Friends Of the Peabody Council on Aging; and the entire cadre of staff and volunteers. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays to everyone and God bless everyone with a happy, healthy New Year. Thank you.

Philip J. Celeste
