In a “tough game on the road,” according to boys basketball coach Marvin Avery Sr., his Lynn Classical Rams got the job done in Revere, 43-41, Thursday night.

Point guard Marvin Avery Jr. led the charge with 20 points for Classical (4-3), which returns to action Monday against Swampscott.

For the Lady Rams, they escaped Revere at home with a 34-33 victory.

Going into the fourth quarter, Classical trailed, 27-21.

“However, with a never-give-up attitude and balanced scoring in the fourth quarter from Savannah Tang, Keisha Perez, Divine Egbuta, Linda Jallow, and Lauren Wilson, we were able to pull out a one-point victory with a foul shot by Perez with three seconds to go.”

Playing the role of the hero, Perez led the way with 12 points for Classical, which now stands at 6-2.

Abby Bettencourt, Olivia Gaynor, Ally Bettencourt, Lizzie Bettencourt, Aliana Ryan, and Sophia Coburn all played strong games, according to coach Stan McKeen.

Peabody moved to a perfect 6-0 on the season.

Swampscott
Marblehead

The game was postponed due to a water leakage at Marblehead High. A future date is to be determined.

SWIMMING AND DIVING

Revere 85
Classical 76

Classical’s swim team suffered a loss against Revere, but “we did have some great swims” on Thursday, as said by coach Denise Silva.

Camille Mendonca finished first in the 200 free, but the Rams weren’t done there, adding two first-place relay finishes (200 free, 400 free) courtesy of David Gamero, Kaydee Rouse, Andrew Moore, and Mendonca.

TRACK AND FIELD

Lynn Tech’s boys and girls track teams ran by Lowell Catholic on Thursday. The boys moved to 2-1, while the girls remained perfect at 3-0.
