LYNN — “Through a Rainbow Lens” Project Director Jim Moser, Ward 3 City Councilor Coco Alinsug, Salem State history Professor Dr. Drew Darien, retired Salem State professor Dr. Pat Gozemba, and United Lynn Pride President and Executive Director Cristian Recinos discussed Pride Month on Attorney Jim Carrigan’s LCTV show, “The American Dream,” this week.
The show is “designed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how public and private policy is developed,” according to Carrigan.
During the show, which ran for slightly more than 40 minutes, the guests and Carrigan talked about the history of the movement for LGBTQ+ rights in Lynn and the United States as a whole, as well as issues that the LGBTQ+ community continues to face.
They highlighted “Through a Rainbow Lens, A Reflection on Lynn’s LGBTQ+ History,” an exhibit at the Lynn Museum that will be open until Oct. 31. The guests discussed the research that went into the exhibit and some of the items that are on display there.
“We were trying to find a way to recognize the impact of the AIDS crisis on Lynn, and so we have a panel from the AIDS Quilt, and it’s the first time in 20 years that the AIDS Quilt has been back in Lynn,” Moser said.
The show airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 7 a.m. on Comcast Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 38. It can also be watched online at www.Lynntv.org.
