SAUGUS — Jessica and Michael Lombardi of Saugus rang in the New Year at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) as they prepared to welcome their newborn baby.
Leah James Lombardi was born at 12:14 a.m. on Jan. 1, becoming the first baby born in Boston this year.
“Mass General was honored to welcome the very first baby born in the City of Boston in 2025,” MGH wrote on Facebook.
The baby weighed 8 pounds and 7 inches and measured 20.5 inches long, according to MGH.
