SWAMPSCOTT — Ronny Paulino Colon, 32, of Lynn, was arraigned Aug. 7 in Essex County Superior Court after prosecutors alleged that on June 11, Colon sexually assaulted a female client of the Swampscott massage therapy business where he previously worked.
According to the Essex County District Attorney’s office, Colon was charged with one count of rape and five counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14. The business in which he previously worked was not released.
When Colon appeared in Superior Court in Salem Thursday, the Hon. Thomas Dreschler imposed his bail at $10,000 and set several bail conditions. The defendant must surrender his passport, commit no crimes, and have no contact in any form with the victim or witnesses to the case.
He must also possess no firearms, dangerous weapons or any other destructive devices, according to the press release. The defendant must also not engage in any work as a massage therapist, or any massage-related work.
Assistant District Attorney Stefanie Stanbro is representing the Commonwealth in the case. Colon is slated to return to court for a compliance hearing on Sept. 18, and is being represented by attorney Raymond Buso.
