LYNN – Construction workers struck into gas box at Spring Street and Broad Street at approximately 2 p.m. Monday.
Workers digging into the street broke a gas box in the area. Police were on scene for traffic, and gas and electricity company National Grid was called. A firetruck stood by waiting for them.
The area surrounding the incident was closed off and checked, and no odor or readings were found coming from manhole covers or sewers.
