You know what I’ve been thinking? It was quite the six-day stretch for Swampscott football standout Will Bush, who dominated against two Northeastern Conference opponents.
Bush, a running back and All-Northeastern Conference linebacker last season, got things started Friday, Oct. 24 in Saugus. In a 34-0 victory, he ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns.
Oh. On eight carries . . .
Fast forward six days to Thursday. The Big Blue defended Blocksidge Field against Salem, 33-0, as Bush compiled another four rushing touchdowns.
The 5-foot-9, 190-pound ball-carrier can navigate through traffic – exemplified by 3- and 6-yard scores against Salem – but he can also explode in the open field. Through the two games, Bush rattled off 17-, 19-, 55-, 59-, and 61-yard touchdowns.
With Bush leading the charge, Swampscott is 6-2 and ranked 12th in the MIAA’s Division 5 power rankings.
Let’s see how things shape up come Sunday afternoon’s bracket releases.
Will, good week.
