As we are now in the full swing of the holiday season, we are reminded of the joy, generosity, and compassion that make this time of year so special. Today, The Daily Item is reaching out in hopes of securing support through the Santa Fund for a local mother who is facing tremendous challenges and is hoping to give her daughter a meaningful Christmas.
In her own words, she shares, “Dear Santa, I would love to have help to get my daughter a gift for Christmas. I am currently having issues staying afloat with paying bills and getting food.”
Despite her best efforts, unexpected circumstances have made this season especially difficult. She explains that she “just had to take a FMLA to better my serious health condition” and that she is “currently not getting paid for work due to being out on FMLA.”
Even while managing a serious medical condition and financial hardship, she continues to do everything she can to care for her family, stating:
“I am working to ensure we stay afloat with what we need.”
A contribution from the Santa Fund would make a profound difference, bringing relief, restoring hope, and helping her create a joyful holiday moment for her daughter. As she expressed so simply and sincerely. “This would help me so much to make her smile and better her Christmas. Thank you so much.”
Your generosity can turn a season of struggle into one of warmth and joy. Any support you can provide, large or small, will have a meaningful impact.
Now in its 59th year, the Item Santa Fund helps bring Christmas joy to local residents in need. The Item collects donations while The Salvation Army purchases and distributes toys and essentials to approved families in the area.
