After falling short in last week’s season opener against Salem, Saugus’ boys basketball team (1-1) responded Monday with a 65-56 road win against Community Academy of Science and Health.
Leading a versatile offensive attack were Ryan Shea (25 points), Huey Josama (15), Ryan Dupuy (10), and Paxton Ferraro (6).
Saugus returns to the court Tuesday in Gloucester (0-1) with tip-off slated for 6:30 p.m.

Lynnfield opened its season against Amesbury at The Track at New Balance in Boston. Despite being short-handed and on the losing end, there were certainly Pioneer standouts. Winning their respective events were Emma Greenleaf (55mh – 10.27) Sofia Giardina (55m – 7.95; 300m – 45.88), Abby Lopez (mile – 5:42.70; 2-mile – 12:22.72), and the 4x400m relay team of Aislin McCormack, Sophia Morgese, Lauren Mattia, and Ava Ragusa (4:50.10).
