To the editor,
A $400,000 shipment of lobsters was recently stolen while being transported from Taunton, Massachusetts, to Costco stores. But the real story isn’t just the financial loss — it’s that each of these animals endured stress and pain before being killed. Lobsters are intelligent, sensitive creatures who explore their world and feel suffering, whether in transit, captivity, or a boiling pot. Headlines may treat them as cargo, but they are sentient beings, not commodities. We can choose compassion over cruelty by embracing vegan seafood options.
Every lobster is a “me,” not meat.
Sincerely,
