Lynnfield’s boys hockey team (3-3-2) took care of North Reading 3-2 behind goals from Brendan Driscoll — who netted the game’s final strike to snap a 2-2 tie — Lucas Deraps, and Cam Dembro. Netminder Michael Marenghi saved 24 of 26 shots.
The Pioneers return to the ice Saturday against Newburyport. Puck-drop is set for noon at McVann-O’Keefe Skating Rink in Peabody.

Despite two players reaching double-digit points, the visiting Tigers dipped to 2-2. Jaylianniez Beauchamp recorded 13 points, five steals, and three rebounds, while Allison Morales netted 17 points to go with seven rebounds and five steals. Also helping the cause were Mahlyna Williams (3 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals), Elena Bishop (7 rebounds), and Juliana Gerardo (2 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals).
TRACK AND FIELD
The St. Mary’s girls (4-0) dominated against Cristo Rey (96-0 final) and Arlington Catholic (67-32) behind first-place finishes from Jazmin Rodriguez (high jump), Kelsey Kwiatek (mile, 1,000m), and Mirabelle Calaunan (55m hurdles). The boys (3-0) took down Bishop Fenwick 79-16 behind a double win from Jimmy Jennings (55m, 4×400 relay anchor), as well as victories from Collin Spates (55m hurdles), Josiah Madden (high jump), and Will Potter (660m).
