LYNN —The Lynn Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that sent a young adult male to the hospital.

The shooting took place on Jackson Street around 4:10 p.m. The victim is a young adult male who suffered gunshot wounds, Lynn Police Capt. Christopher Kelly confirmed.

Kelly stated the individual is in stable condition and is currently being transported to a hospital in the area. No arrests have been made at this time.

Kelly stated there is no ongoing threat to the general public.

The Daily Item observed Lynn police actively photographing the scene of the crime as well as checking with local residents to see if their home security cameras caught any footage. Both Jackson Street and Ingalls Street have been blocked off with yellow caution tape, with police allowing only local residents to pass through to get to their homes.

There were a total of four evidence markers where shell castings could be, although it remains unclear how many rounds went off.
