Both Swampscott and St. Mary’s boys basketball teams remained undefeated Friday night.
Swampscott improved to 7-0 with a 58-28 win over Saugus. Teddy O’Neill led the Big Blue with 21 points and five assists. Connor Chiarello added 11 points and six steals.
Defensively, Chase Groothuis finished with eight rebounds and six points, while Sam Moscoso added five rebounds and four points.
Jordan Rodriguez scored six points to lead Saugus.
St. Mary’s also protected its home court, defeating Cardinal Spellman 92-58. Jake Fortier scored 23 points and Rolky Brea Arias added 24 as the Spartans stayed unbeaten at 8-0.
In the latest power rankings, St. Mary’s is ranked No. 1 in Division 2, while Swampscott is No. 10 in Division 3.

The Pioneers continue to roll, winning their fifth game in a row to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Justin Flores led Lynnfield with 22 points while Cam Chisholm added 11. Grant Neal and Brandon Doherty both scored nine points apiece to power Lynnfield.

Cardinal Spellman 23
St. Mary’s bounced back with a road win over Catholic Central League rival Cardinal Spellman. Sysy Emmanuel led the balanced scoring attack with 14 points, while Jaylin Frye scored 11 and Mariella Rivera added seven. Ahrianna Gonzalez (3 points) scored the first varsity points of her career.

Lynn Tech’s Allison Morales couldn’t be stopped on Friday as she scored 38 points to go along with nine rebounds, three steals and three blocks to lead the Tigers (3-2) to a road victory over Lowell Catholic.
Jaylianniez Beauchamp scored 19 points, dished out four assists, and grabbed two rebounds in the win. Cassidy Calef and Mahlyna Williams controlled the glass for Lynn Tech. Calef grabbed 10 rebounds while Williams grabbed eight.

Bishop Fenwick (7-0) earned a 13-point win behind a complete team effort. Celia Neilson recorded 16 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Caitlin Boyle added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Brittney Figulski finished with four points, five rebounds and five steals, while Reese Spurchise scored seven. Jane Koulopoulos, Kyleigh Pidgeon, Abby Jenkins and Taisha Castillo contributed strong defense, according to coach Adam DeBaggis.

Peabody scored just 12 points in the first half and could not recover. Avery Bettencourt scored nine points, while Lizzie Bettencourt and Sophia Coburn pulled down 14 rebounds each.
