Since dropping back-to-back games last week, Lynn Tech’s girls basketball team (4-2) has won two in a row after Tuesday’s clash against KIPP Academy. The visiting Tigers took care of business with a 48-19 win.
Red-hot Allison Morales did it all, scoring 24 points to go with nine rebounds and seven steals. She scored 38 points in Tech’s previous game against Lowell Catholic.
Jaylianniez Beauchamp netted 10 points with four steals, two rebounds, and two assists, while Elena Bishop chipped in four points and six rebounds. Also contributing were Cassidy Calef (10 rebounds, 3 steals) and Mahlyna Williams (10 rebounds).

The Lady Rams (2-3) fought hard, but fell on home hardwood. Leading the way were Divine Egbuta (13 points), Jada Tejada (9), and Aliyah Alvarado (8).
“One-point game at halftime and tight throughout the second half as well,” said Classical coach Tom Sawyer. “I’m proud of the kids’ efforts. Somerville won the (Greater Boston) league last year and we put forth a good effort. They just made a few more plays in a tight game than we did.”

Olivia Gaynor (15 points, 5 steals), Sophia Coburn (9 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals), Lizzie Bettencourt (8 points, 10 rebounds) Ava Ryan (8 points, 8 rebounds), Gabby Gosselin, Aliana Ryan, and Taylor King led the charge.

Lynnfield (7-1) defended home court with a strong victory against the Hornets. Four Pioneers — Grant Neal (12 points), Cam Chisholm (11), Oliver Harth (10), and Harris Hadzihasanovic (10) — finished in double figures.

Peabody’s Mark Mendonca hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds remaining in regulation and sent the game to overtime, but the Vikings edged the Tanners from there. Peabody was led by Thad Broughton Jr. (20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists), Dom Domenici (11 points), and Jeremiah Agbonavbare (14 points), who also played “great defense,” according to Tanners’ coach Thad Broughton.

In enemy waters at Malden High, Classical came up short despite multiple improved times. Solomon Srey finished first in the 50 free, followed by teammate Henry Limkol, while the 100 free saw Mohamed Sherata finish second. Cate Bushway impressed in the 500 free and the 200 free relay team of Nadia Wonoski, Limkol, Jason Silva, and Srey took second. Michael Zepeda Rodriguez and Shirley Morales Gomez improved their 100 backstroke times, while Srey, Silva, David Gamero, and Sherata placed first in the 400 free — the evening’s final event.
