Peabody’s girls track and field team defeated Danvers 68-18 Wednesday behind double-winner Ayanna Cirame (hurdles, high jump). Also winning events were MacKenzie Miller (45-yard dash), Avani Ingham (300m), Avery Marcus (600m), Lauren Foley (1,000m), Ella Braz (mile), and Ricayla Adams (shot put).
“The shot put and hurdle teams swept their events with outstanding performances,” said Peabody coach Phil Sheridan.
TRACK AND FIELD
St. Mary’s put on a show as both the girls and boys teams remained undefeated. The girls (6-0) defeated Bishop Fenwick (83-16) and previously-undefeated Cardinal Spellman (59-41) behind double-winner Kelsey Kwiatek (mile, 2-mile), as well as winners Lea Deronja (long jump) and Jazmin Rodriguez (high jump). The boys (5-0) took down Spellman 56-44 behind first-place finishers Devin Duval (long jump, 55m), Jimmy Jennings (300m, 4×400 relay anchor), and Paolo Meho (shot put).

Lynn Tech’s girls basketball team (5-2) returned from Rockport with a 46-29 win Wednesday evening. Having a week to remember, Allison Morales netted another 33 points to go with eight steals and five rebounds.
Jaylianniez Beauchamp scored 12 points and swiped five steals, while Cassidy Calef collected eight rebounds.
“Unbelievable effort on the defensive end by the entire team,” said Tech coach Kaitlyn Wechsler.
Making it three games across three nights, the Tigers visit Nashoba Valley Tech Thursday with tip-off slated for 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s meet came down to the final relay, as visiting Lynn Tech fell just short in need of a first-place finish. The Tigers won four of the first five events before Shawsheen’s comeback.
Tech’s first-place finishers: Addisyn Brown (diving), Hunter Flores (200 individual medley), Colin Newhall (50 free), the 200 medley relay team of Flores, Isaac Powers, JohnDeiry Batista, and Newhall, as well as the 200 free relay team of Batista, Flores, Newhall, and Filipe Oliveira.
“This was a close meet and all of the above had some amazing best times,” said Tech coach John Hogan. “We kept the meet close, but were just short in the last 400 free relay.”
