Lynnfield’s boys basketball team began its season 0-1, but you could say that’s ancient history. The Pioneers (10-1) defeated visiting East Boston 89-62 Wednesday evening, marking 10 consecutive victories.
A versatile offense was led by Grant Neal (24 points), Brandon Doherty (17), Oliver Harth (13), and Justin Flores (10).
Lynnfield hosts unbeaten Newburyport (10-0) Friday for Cape Ann League bragging rights. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.

Captains Caitlin Boyle (21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals) and Celia Neilson (14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, 2 drawn charges) led the way as Fenwick improved to 9-1. Jane Koulopoulos added nine points and five rebounds.

The Spartans dipped to 6-6 after a road loss against Tewksbury (11-0), the top-ranked team in Division 2. Tewksbury’s KJ Andriolo (from Tyler Bourgea) scored the game-winning goal with 58 seconds remaining in regulation. Connor Anderson made 36 saves for St. Mary’s, while Finn Racki (goal, assist), Stephen Nason (goal), Colton Carpenter (2 assists), and Caleb Racki (assist) produced offensively.

BC High ripped two third-period goals, but St. John’s Prep (6-3-2) had enough banked to hold on. JR Goldstein, Brandon Ward, and Gavin Anderson scored goals, while Nathan Michaud poured in 21 saves for The Prep.

The one-two punch of Alyssa Norden (2 goal) and Emma Doucette (2 goals) lifted the Spartans to another win at Connery Rink. St. Mary’s improved to 10-0-1.
