SAUGUS — The Saugus Cultural Council announced the recipients of the FY26 grant cycle, allocating $15,500 to support cultural arts programs and events in town.
The Belmonte STEAM Academy was the recipient of three grants in this cycle, including $150 for culturally responsive books for the school library, $500 for the Prismatic Magic: Education Laser Show, and $595 for a field trip to the New England Aquarium.
Anthony J. Boff received a grant for $500 to fund the Crow, Clap, and Yell storytelling show by Tony Toledo.
One of the larger grants, $1,500 to Friends of North Shore Children’s Museum, will be used to fund Saugus Free Days giving residents the chance to visit the museum with a free day pass.
Once again in the grant cycle was the Breakheart Fall Fest put together by Helping Hands of Breakheart Reservation, which asked for $900.
KevTech Services received a $1,000 grant for Digital Art and Photography Classes at the Saugus Senior Center. There, KevTech will educate seniors on how to use new technology.
Kicking it With Kindness Inc. received $400 for the Saugus Trunk or Treat.
Two grants went to MUSIC Dance.edu this cycle. One is for Hip Hp Chair Dance for Seniors! for $600 and “I am Autistic I am Fantastic – The Musical” for $580.
A grant of $250 went to the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School Multi Cultural Night.
Windy Pham received grant funding for $500 for a Voices of Heritage: AAPI Art & Education Workshop, David Polatin received on for $300 for “Music from Memphis,” and Saugus Action Volunteers for the Environment (S.A.V.E.) received one for $500 for the Wildlife Encounters show.
Another larger grant went to Saugus Community Television for $1,000 for the creation of Saugus TV Starlight Cinema and $300 went to Saugus High School for Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
The Saugus Public Library received eight grants this cycle for different programs including: a John Patrick Green author visit ($2,500), a serenity garden making workshop ($350), the Art on the Wing program ($525), Pop-Up Art School for teens ($375), Classical Music at the Library with the Rasa String Quartet ($1,000), Summer Concerts at the Iron Works ($1,000), the Mixed Media and the Art of Ma program ($374), and three children’s concerts with Evan Haller ($300).
Saugus Public Schools received a grant of $500 for fundraising for Orff Percussion Instrument, Saugus Youth and Recreation received $1,400 for Museum of Science tickets, and the Veterans Early Learning Center received $1,500 for a trip to the theater.
Lastly, Joshua Dellheim received a grant of $725 for a Mad Science Show at the Belmonte STEAM Academy and The Delvena Theatre Company received $775 for Another Order of Mangia, Meatballs, and Murder.
