During Saturday’s MSTCA State Coaches Invitational, St. John’s Prep was led by Henry McDonnell (3rd – mile – 4:21.18) and Leo Emerson (4th – 55mh – 7.79). St. Mary’s Jimmy Jennings, Lucian Paula, Will Potter, and Jacobi James placed 13th in the 4x400m relay (3:37.41). Swampscott’s Benjamin White finished 14th in shot put (46-6.50), while Annabelle Averett placed 17th in the mile (5:24.06). Peabody’s Mohamed Lhassouani took third in the 1,000m (2:36.75). Marblehead’s Clark Roszell recorded third place in high jump (6-4), while Lucy Flynn finished 12th in the 300m (42.44) and Marrietta O’Connell impressed in the 2-mile (10th – 11:38.25). Bishop Fenwick’s Adelaide Sweatman was close behind in 11:54.06.
As for the MSTCA Freshman Sophomore Invitational, Peabody had itself a day. Performing well were Avani Ingham (5th – 300m – 43.41), Lauren Foley (3rd – 1,000m – 3:04.61), Ella Braz (2nd – mile – 5:27.51), Zaiden Nazaire (11th – shot put – 39-9.75), and Claire Welton (5th – shot put – 30-3). Lynnfield’s Jackson Lewis recorded 16th in high jump (5-2), while Alex Amico placed 30th in shot put (34-1.75). St. John’s Prep was paced by Garrett Dodge (11th – 600m – 1:29.63), Michael Salemi (15th – long jump – 18-02.25), Will Figulski (12th – shot put – 39-9), and Vinny Graziani (17th – shot put – 37-0.50).

In a meeting of Division 1 contenders, No. 9 St. Mary’s (6-6-1) outshot No. 10 Arlington Catholic 32-28 as Connor Anderson made 26 saves. Offensive damage was done by Cam Marchand (goal), Evan Toto (goal), Connor Iannotti (assist), Joey Mongiello (assist), and Ryder McGonagle (assist).

Timmy McColgan netted his first varsity goal to lead fifth-ranked St. John’s Prep over No. 4 Saint John’s Shrewsbury. Sefton Paradis, Anthony Petruccelli, Brandon Ward, and Brennan Waters also scored for the Eagles (7-3-2).

St. John’s Prep returned from West Springfield with convincing wins against Marlborough (66-16), Franklin (54-21), West Springfield (55-16), and Southwick (69-4). Undefeated Eagles were Collin Vitale, Ben Schumacher, Graham Conway, Boden Dormer, Jimmy Lally, Will LaVallee, Charlie Poor, Bryant Mason, and Joe Irzyk.

On a Senior Night that celebrated Travis Smith, Shelia Pimentel, and Angelica Rodriguez Munoz, the Spartans took care of business against the Crusaders. Swimming well were Izzy Amodeo (1st – 200 and 500 freestyle), Smith (1st – 50 and 100 freestyle), Luka Kukolj (1st – 100 breaststroke), and the first-place freestyle relay team of Gabby Merchant, Amodeo, Smith, and Anastasia Botova.
