Lynn Classical completed a season sweep of Lynn English on Monday night with a 51-31 win.
The Rams were led by Evelyn Diaz, who scored 21 points, and Divine Egbuta, who added 20 points and 12 rebounds. Head coach Tom Sawyer also credited sophomore Mia Duncan for her defense.
“It started with our defense, led by Mia Duncan. She held one of their best scorers scoreless,” Sawyer said. “Seniors Deleisha Perez-Vazquez and Jada Tejada’s defensive effort and composure running the offense was also key.”
Sawyer said he was pleased with his team’s execution of the defensive game plan and its ability to take care of the ball offensively, noting the Rams committed no live-ball turnovers.
