SWAMPSCOTT — Big Blue Bargains, a volunteer-run non profit in Swampscott benefiting the local community, is proud to announce it is moving into the main Clarke School building, and it has added additional hours of operation.
Big Blue Bargains, which has been operating out of a portable unit outside the school, will soon relocate into the building located at 155 Norfolk Ave., creating a shared, centralized community hub.
The move will allow Big Blue Bargains to expand its footprint and hours of operation, increase inventory capacity, and enhance its ability to give back. In 2025, Big Blue Bargains contributed more than $25,700 back to the Swampscott community through grants, donations, and local support initiatives.
The shop will be open regular hours at the new location starting Saturday, Feb. 7. The grand opening party including a ribbon cutting ceremony and donuts from Dockside Donuts will be on Saturday, Feb. 14. Starting Monday, Feb. 16, the expanded hours at the new location will now include Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Town of Swampscott and the Swampscott School Committee for this opportunity,” said Laura Lynn, Board Member of Big Blue Bargains. “Having an expanded space inside Clarke School allows us to grow our mission, better serve our customers and donors, and continue giving back to the community we love. And being under the same roof as Swampscott Recreation opens the door to exciting collaborations and deeper community engagement.”
Looking ahead, Big Blue Bargains and Swampscott Recreation plan to explore joint initiatives, events, and programming that further connect residents, support local families, and strengthen community resources, all aligned with the shared goal of making Clarke School a vibrant, multi-use community center.
