Swampscott’s boys basketball team took care of business at home against Salem in a key Division 3 matchup. In the latest power rankings, Swampscott (13-4) was ranked No. 9, while Salem was No. 2, but the Big Blue proved to be too much en route to a 58-52 victory.
Swampscott led 30-27 at halftime and extended its lead to nine points, 42-33, heading into the fourth quarter. In the final period, Teddy O’Neill and Connor Chiarello made key plays to stun the Witches. Earlier this season, Salem defeated Swampscott by 20 points.
