St. Mary’s (19-3) girls basketball team fell short against Andover (20-1) in the championship game of the Spartan Classic 52-41.
St. Mary’s led 26-21 at half but Andover tied the game at 28 midway through the third quarter. Andover’s Lexi Linsey took over in the second half, however, using her sharpshooting to give the Golden Warriors the lead and prevent St. Mary’s from rallying.
Jill Roberts was named to the all-tournament team for St. Mary’s.

The Tanners jumped out to a 23-3 lead after the first quarter and were never threatened as they captured the championship of the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic. Tournament MVP Olivia Gaynor (16 points) and Olivia Ball (12) led Peabody (14-6), while Avery Bettencourt had 17 points in two games to earn All-Tournament honors. Celia Harrington paced the Rockets with 13 and was named to the All-Tournament team.

In the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic consolation game, All-Tournament Team selection Tessa Andriano scored 13 points, giving her 30 in two days, to lead the Magicians (12-8). Courtney Fritts had five points for North Andover and earned All-Tournament recognition.

Celia Neilson had 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the Crusaders’ win. Reese Spurchise added six points, seven rebounds and four assists for Bishop Fenwick.
Bishop Fenwick (14-5) will face Needham in the championship game of the Norwell Invitational on Wednesday.

Tourney MVP Finn Baron scored 12 points to give him 33 for the tournament as the host Magicians (13-6) took the Larry McIntire IAABO board 130 Classic. Tommy McGovern scored a team-high 13 for Marblehead and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Cole Mosley-Wynn led the Fishermen with 21 points, while All-Tournament Team selection Kyle Ewans had 11.

In a matchup between two of the top teams in Division 3, the Big Blue took down the Rams in enemy territory.
Leading by two late in the game, Swampscott got a key defensive stop when Cole Manning blocked a shot at the basket. After securing the loose ball, Conor Chiarello was fouled and made both free throws to make it a two-possession game.
Teddy O’Neill scored a game-high 27 points for Swampscott, while Chiarello added 13.
Shyheim Babb led Lynn Classical with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
KIPP Academy 58
Peabody 54
KIPP Academy defeated Peabody for the second time this season.
Peabody (11-7) closes the regular season Tuesday at Lynnfield at 5:30 p.m.
Mark Mendonca led Peabody with 20 points and five assists, while Thad Broughton Jr. had 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
“Proud of our improvement in the second half of the season as we won five of our last nine games,” Peabody coach Thad Broughton said.

Huey Josama scored 21 points, Jordan Rodriguez added 19 and Nathan Soroko had 13 as Saugus defeated North Attleborough in the Patton Tournament.
The Sachems advanced to the championship game and will face Hamilton-Wenham on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.

St. John’s Prep took control early after a first-period goal by senior Brandon Ward. After Franklin tied the game, the Eagles scored three straight goals to build a commanding lead.

St. Mary’s won the Catholic Central League championship with a 2-1 overtime victory over Archbishop Williams.
Alyssa Norden scored the game-winner, while Keira Twomey opened the scoring for the Spartans.
St. Mary’s will face Reading Memorial on Tuesday at Malden Valley Forum at 2 p.m.
