PEABODY — Bishop Fenwick High School has announced that seven students and eight projects are being recognized in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have celebrated bold, innovative thinking in young artists across the country since 1923. Nearly 9,000 art entries were submitted this year from across Massachusetts.
Danielle Nalesnik of Revere won the Gold Key for photography with a project titled “Chiaroscuro Leaves” and will advance to the national competition in March.
Silver Key winners include Neive Bachman, of Beverly, with “The world is your oyster” and Kailyn Grassia, of Beverly, with “Բարի ախորժակ!” (Enjoy your meal!).
Honorable mentions were Luis Araujo Mendoza, of Peabody, with “Umbrella Alley,” Sofia DeLuca, of Peabody, with “agoraphobia,” and Sofia DeLuca with “Won’t you come and save me?” Violet Elizabeth-White, of Salem, with “A Mercy from the Beyond,” and Molli Ingersoll, of Lynn, with “The Circus of Sin.”
“From evocative photography to intricate ceramics and powerful drawings, our students’ work showcases the breadth and depth of artistic expression flourishing at Fenwick. Their achievements across multiple disciplines reflect the comprehensive arts education and creative environment that defines the program,” the school noted.
Thanks were also given to Visual Arts teachers Taryn Beatrice and Ciara O’Flynn-Gillis.
