Despite trailing 14-13 after the opening quarter, Lynnfield’s girls basketball team responded with a 55-46 victory in Wakefield to finish its regular season 13-7.
Chloe Grieves (17 points, 18 rebounds) recorded her 12th double-double of the season, while Hayden Valiton (16 points) and Olivia Braley (10 points) reached double figures.
“This was a good win for us, playing a very good opponent in Wakefield,” said Lynnfield coach Sue Breen. “We had to work for everything. We got great contributions from every player on the team.”

Visiting Lynn Tech (13-7) ran into trouble despite Allison Morales’ 18 points and seven rebounds. Also contributing were Juliana Gerardo (7 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals), Jaylianniez Beauchamp (4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), Cassidy Calef (3 points, 13 rebounds), and Mahlyna Williams (2 points, 8 rebounds).

In the Spartan Classic consolation game, Lynn Tech (12-7) trailed by six points at halftime and couldn’t claw back. Giovanni Jean (25 points) led all scorers, while Ulices Diaz recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Behind 13 triples, Lynnfield improved to 16-4 with a home win against KIPP. Grant Neal stayed hot with 27 points for the Pioneers, followed by Justin Flores (11) and Cam Chisholm (10).

Saugus (11-9) fell short in the championship game of the Patton Tournament, despite strong showings from Huey Josama (15 points), Jordan Rodriguez (13), and Ryan Shea (10).
